Following a review of the data suppliers earlier this year, a new deal has been agreed with BDS to provide Prism users with extended enrichments. This will mean that Prism will provide the experience that library users have come to expect from today’s digital environment, as well as giving you best value and choice from your Prism subscription.

We held a webinar this week to explain how customers can benefit from these new enrichments and we included a demonstration of how the new book jackets are displayed in Prism searches. You can view a video of the webinar here.

Following the announcement of our deal with BDS to extend and enhance enrichments in Prism, we will be holding a webinar to discuss this further. The beta tests of the new Marcgrab for Prism 3 are going well and it won’t be long before we start a roll-out programme for all Prism 3 customers. Marcgrab is a re-write of Marcgrabber and has been developed to make it easier for us to  make amendments now and in the future. It will also enable searches for recently added items in Prism 3 and also multi-volume parent/child record processing. Crucially, it will also enable the Semantic Data Model.

We ran a webinar to introduce Marcgrab on Monday 9^th May. We talked about what Marcgrab is, why it has been re-written, the prerequisites required for installation, the benefits that it will bring to your system, an overview of the process,  the steps involved in  the implementation and how you can request it to be installed.  You can watch the video here.
