We have just released an updated version to preview. This includes:

· Displaying the rating or invitation to rate on its own line in the Item Detail page

· Clearer interaction when you click a star to give a rating

· Stronger colour for the stars to increase their visibility whilst not clashing with local design choices or dominating the display

· Ensuring correct workflow when not signed in and you click a star to give a rating: Prism takes you via the sign in process back to your results page to add your rating.

You may need to clear the cache in your browser with Ctrl+F5 to see these changes on pages you have visited recently.

Hi Jo,

There doesn't seem to be a way around that at the moment.

The proper solution would be to include a date range in the search, against date received, e.g. specifying the last 30 days, and sort the results by date received, without a limit on the number of items displayed. Then you will have a normal results set where faceting will behave the same as for any other results set. Date range search is something we're seeking to enable in future.

Sorry - I didn't read the initial post properly! I see I need to go into the admin console and enable this first. I assumed, as it was a preview, that this type of feature would be enabled automatically.

I must be missing something, but I've logged onto my account so that the "Logout" button is visible instead of "Login" . If I then do a search for "Dracula" and click onto the detail page (URL http://prism.talis.com/demo/gateshead/items/468020?query=Dracula&resultsUri=items%3Fquery%3DDracula) I don't see any difference from the old version - there are no stars (or "unfilled" star icons) on the page I see.

I got far more excited about the community features than I should have, but it's a feature I've been waiting for for a long time. Simple star ratings seem the best way to introduce this feature, and I'm pleased to see that you're aggregating the ratings across libraries. Nice work.

My only criticism is that you always seem to release new stuff just before I go on leave, so I don't get much of a chance to play with it...

Thanks, Phil. I should have thought of that! I was assuming we would need to ask Capita to add the text but I can see from experimentation that we can just add hyperlinks to homepage.html.

Hi John,

We've just started a development theme that adds the ability to embed RSS feeds (and lists) in tenancy theme fragments.

Until that is completed, have you considered about inserting a normal hyperlink to the non-rss version of a prepared search, as Southwark have done? Here's their homepage, with new additions links at the top: http://prism.talis.com/southwark/

Kind regards,

Phil John
Prism 3 Technical Lead.

In November Phil wrote: "We’re looking into providing a quick and easy way to embed an RSS feed of a search within the homepage fragment, so watch this space."

Have there been any further developments? We're looking for a *simple* way of incorporating a New Additions link, as in Prism 2. Our users are also enquiring about this and it still looks as if Juice needs more knowledge of JavaScript than any of us have, or have time to acquire.
